What are some environmental problems we have due to global warming?

The biggest problem to my environment is that I have to constantly hear about global warming. Day in, day out. The hysteria is getting out of hand. So I would say the biggest effect global warming has on my environment is hearing about global warming. Other than that, I see no global warming around here. It's 15 frickin degrees, and snowing.|||due to the continued meltdown of ice in the polar zones, some life forms could become extinct, due to the changed climate, that includes polar bears and some penguin species.

increase in the rate and intensity of hurricanes in the Caribbean and China sea damages low lands.

change in the amount of rains in the Sub Sahara belt around the world (the zone between the tropics and the deserts) causes extinction of several species that can not adapt to the lack of rain.|||I'm not about to go off shoooting my mouth off carelessly here, because we can only go by what appears to be a changing weather pattern.

We are fed images of polar bears dangling on thin ice, and have to agree something seems to be changing.

Unless, of course, those images are fake.

As for the apparent differences going on...weather patterns that give us fluctuating conditions...severe summers where no rain exists in certain areas, while others have extreme heat that often kills people with health problems...this tells me that the earth may indeed be going through some changes that are unique.

Some will argue that earth was always changing, and that is true.

However, SEVERE changes like we are now experiencing has to be the result of high population and their propensity to use pollutants and toxins to the detriment of their own eco systems.

Just for example...the weather today is balmy for Jan. 1.

It is expected to flucturate some ffity degrees over the next week, dropping to the low teens by tomorrow, and then going back to the fifties by the weekend.

I can understand some fluctuation, but these extremes that keep taking place tell me that something isn't what it should be.

I have to conclude that the extreme conditions that prevail in certain areas of the world, and the inclination for those conditions to escallate, says that earth is changing.

Some of the changes are actually beneficial, i.e. longer time periods of milder weather make it easier to get around as opposed to icy, snowy conditions.

The big question is when will the extremes become overwheming, so that no man made solution can remedy it.|||in olden times, please use to live for 100 years and more... now we could live only for 60-70 yrs. only.|||the ice from the antarctic and the ice from the arctic are melting due to global warming and flooding the land on the earth. after the water evaporates, the land will be barren. extreme heat is also an environmental problem due to global warming.|||Yes, at least in my country we see many phenomenon in the nature, like balance of seasons(temperature, period), fishes which seen in warmer area can be seen in the north part in the recent years.

The government has already started to do a lot campaign to raise the nation's awareness of global warming, loads company's building started to be instructed to set the airconditioner's temperature setting at certain temp. or project on reducing plastic bag at shops, which is good, because my country is one of the developped country and should lead and educate the other countries that their awareness is very low and thinking about their own national interests than gloval issues.

I was very surprised Singapore doesn't give a sh*t about global awareness, do they? a fridge like shopping mall, thick jacket-worn taxi driver driving in a freezing cab. Then now They just hassled with Christmas illumination in the tropical country... They are goning to build Casino and Singapore is going to be one of the biggest CO2 country!! Don't take the liberty of the size of small. Just an excuse....

And was told most clean country in the world. Oh, yes in the central area... but outskirts....clean??? after all very superficial...|||melting polar ice caps, droughts, flooding.|||loss of habitat around the arctic circle, corral reef bleaching, melting permafrost droughts, food shortages, desertification, flooding and more sevear storms.
