Do you believe humankind has the potential to solve or fix it's environmental problems?

This question is inspired by a film I recently saw called The 11th Hour. It explains how mankind has been destroying planet Earth since the discovery of natural resources. We now have huge issues like global warming, climate change and biodiversity problems. Do you feel humans can fix these issues? Why?|||Absolutely, but it is not the potential that is the problem it is the will to do the what is necessary and to accept that we need to start to do it now.

We already know what needs to be done and in may areas how to do it. These changes will have to affect every aspect of life. Until what is best for the environment is of the first importance to us all in every aspect of life we we will continue to destroy the planet we live on.

Can man accept that the earth is not an infinite resource we can consume in a never ending way and that the answer is not to war over the dwindling resources.

Sadly I believe this will not happen until the developed countries of the world see thousands maybe millions of their own citizens dying due to the rising seas and destruction of much of the own country and infrastructure caused by climate change.

Whether this will be in time before we are passed the point of no return, when the permafrost begin to melt only time will show.|||The potential is a fact. The probability is also. The issue is a diversion that diverts the energy and will of the younger generation from what needs to be done to what the powers in control want to do. We, as a people are in need of leadership that will convince us as a nation to do what is necessary and not what is the easiest and most pleasurable. It is not very likely that this is going to happen before the choices become necessities. Hard but necessary changes are not accomplished by popular leadership. If we must do with out it won't be done by a population volunteering. It will be accomplished by the will to survive. |||Of course MANkind has the abilities to solve and fix its enviomental problems. The reason we fail in doing so is because or lack of trusting one another which causes discord and diversity. The U.N. is in the process of making it happen, but the trust issue still stands in the way.

Some of the lack of trust is evident when people wont trust their governments and make the appropriate changes in their lifestyles. Some of the trust is evident when we see our own national leaders arguing over the issues. Some other evidence is when we see neighboors not trusting each other by lending a hand and help each other out with yard work, and gardening, and energy costing ideas.

Trust is the biggist stumbling block in the way of reaching a solution to cleaning up our envioment. INSUBOARDANANCE is the next biggest. Speaking for AMERICA; we live with the "Land of the free" attitude, or "I can do what ever I want. It's a free country." attitude. Convincing people that there is a problem is another ingredience.

If we can over come the LACK OF COMMUNICATION in trust, suboardanance, and pursuasion then I say mankind is not only capable of solving/ fixing it's enviromental problems, but we would fix them.|||Yes one way to do so is to use E Bikes a type of bike for use in town a bike which is like a motor cycle. The bikes have electric motors 500 watt motors. Thing is the bikes cost from 1,600 to 2,000 dollars.

The bike has a lead acid gel battery which requires changing every 80 kilometers. The bikes take six hours to recharge. Cost is cheap and helps with high gas prices if such a concern. Ways to make more accessible could be Civic Currency made by citizens as Environment Money .|||We can affect issues like clean water and healthy forests.... etc., but we shouldn't be worried about the climate. The Earth has been warming and cooling over and over many times for millions of years with ....... and without man.

We simply need to adjust.|||Fix what problems? They're all made up.
