Propose a solution to prevent the environmental problems of the seaport of Troy described below.?

The Trojans cut down all the trees on a wooded hillside. Without trees to hold the soil in place, rain washed the soil into the harbor. So much silt accumulated the harbor that large ships could not enter the harbor and Troy's economy collapsed. Today, the ruins of Troy are several miles from the sea.|||Dredging is the only way, along with removal of silt by bulldozers %26amp; other machinery.|||This goes for the entire world, we cannot long survive unless science becomes a major part of each nations government affairs. At this point, we have the technology %26amp; some countries are using it, to create a safe environment for the populace.





The reason(s) for the terrible conditions developing %26amp; already wreaking havoc on us - greed. Greed needs to be fed. It is voracious.. and unquenchable. There is little point trying to patch up the damage (as best we can) as the money machine creates it.
