How is the use of pesticides and fertilizers for agriculture tied to environmental problems far away from thei?

?? :)|||In the case of fertilizers less than half of the materials are actually utilized by the plants. The rest of The fertilizer pollutes ground water, attaches to soil particles or pollutes the atmosphere. The pollution of groundwater can contaminate well water. When these chemicals attach to soil particles, it affects everything that depends on the soil, such as microbes and the plants themselves. The atmospheric pollution results in something called atmospheric nitrogen deposition. When it rains, the air pollutants are carried in the water. Atmospheric nitrogen deposition adds excess nitrogenous materials to ecosystems all over the continent. This excess material alters ecosystems.

As for pesticides, do some research on colony collapse disorder. It is correlated with the use of systemic pesticides. The pesticides may be what is causing commercially important bees to die and leave their hives. Without these bees, our agriculture will suffer, we may soon depend on other countries for our fruits and some other foods if this problem is not solved. There are a lot of negative environmental affects caused by pesticides, I just mentioned one of them.|||The chemcals used can affect the enviroment in several ways even across the state or country. One way is the birds and migratory animals that eat the treated plants can affect the areas in which they migrate. Water runoff is another huge effect. Rivers can carry these chemicals for thousands of miles affecting wildlife the whole way. One more that i can think of is the chemicals used can affect crops that may be transported "far away"|||The particles that are light enough to go through the air can travel great distances depending on environments wind and moisture conditions allowing it cause respiratory problems for animals within certain distances.|||There is a dead-zone in the Gulf of Mexico where no fish live because of the run-off of pesticices %26amp; ferts in the Mississippi river.
