Carbon dioxide emissions are directly proportional to fuel consumption. The higher the fuel consumption, and the greater the impact on climate change.





Future CO2 levels are expected to rise due to ongoing burning of fossil fuels and land-use change





We burn fossil fuels for electricity (from coal and gas) in our homes and businesses, our cars, flights and to create the food, clothes and other things we buy and consume every day.





it is up to each of us to clean our own mess|||The "greenhouse effect" which causes global warming is largely the result of CO2 emissions.





Carbon dixoide - and other gases such as methane - reflect back the heat from sunlight to the Earth, instead of it being lost to outer space.





We need some CO2 to heat the planet up, but too much will melt polar ice caps, causing a rise in sea level. Animals which can't adapt to the rise in temperature will die out. Polar bears will be in danger of extinction (think camouflage).





Deserts will grow in size, menaing less arable land to grow crops. Icebergs melting mean more heat is absorbed by the darker sea, so the temperature rises still further.





Most of the world's capital cities were built near rivers (because of access to easy drinking water and transport) - they will be at risk of flooding.





There will be a rise in extreme weather - more hurricanes and floods - as more energy is put into the climate. There will be more forest fires and droughts.





Britain, paradoxically, may cool down, if the Gulf Stream which warms us goes into reverse - due to it being disrupted by fresh water from melting ice caps.|||the extreme change of weather... the temperature of the earth increases.. melting the icebergs on the north and south pole.. which will eventually flood the whole world if all the icebergs were to melt...





that's why we need to save the green plants as they take in CO2 and release O2 into the air...|||rise in heat tepmutures as co2 blocks heat from escaping so this leads to extreme weather
