What effect does the fact that polar bears are becoming extinct have on environmental problems?

The Polar Bear problem compared to other biodiversity problems. Is there a connection? Is there a connection between the polar bear problem and other environmental problems, e.g. the obvious one with climate change?|||The fact is that They aren't. Polar bear population has grown dramatically since hunting them was banned by the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) in 1972.

The Earth's temperature has not risen in over 15 years, not even by 1/10 of a degree (F). There are parts of the Arctic that appear to be "warming" or "melting," but this is cyclical (normal) and happens periodically. There are other parts of the Arctic that have "freezing" far beyond the norm.|||Environmentalists = crazy people who skew facts by presenting only certain, specific details that helps their case and ignore any other form of facts and generally ignore logic and common sense (almost as much as Evangelical Christians).

Remember this and you will never be fooled by them again :-)

You want an example of this for your question? Ok - ploar bear population dipped due to HUNTING. If you tell people "yeah, you can kill that animal", guess what people are going to do? Kill that animal. Polar bear hunting was banned in the 1970s, and their population has been fine since.

There is a direct coloration between polar bear population and hunting rules, but there is absolutely no proven coronation between polar population and climate change. This is something environmentalists pulled out of their ***.|||Polar bear extinction has an impact on biodiversity. For example, as the population decreases, there are fewer predators for walruses and seals. As the seal and walrus population increases, there are more predators for fish. That reduces the fish population. As the fish population declines there is less food for polar bears and the cycle continues.|||Your "facts" are wrong. The Polar bear is no where close to becoming extinct. That is just another in the long list of environmentalist lies.|||The polar bear population is just fine. Some areas are in decline but others are increasing or staying the same. Currently the population is at 20 to 25k. They are doing quite well and there isn't a problem.|||I remember there is a question similar to your question asked by someone few days ago. Someone has answered it very well, and the answer has been chosen as the best answer. You can try to search it in search function above, hope you luck|||Great article about effect of global warming on polar bears: http://www.bearplanet.org/global-warming鈥?/a>
