How do we get big business and government to place long-term solutions to the environmental problems the world faces ahead of short-term profits?|||By making them accountable for their actions. If the government won't do it then we the people must make our demands and then stage boycotts. Educate businesses and the citizens so they understand what is happening and how they can get involved.|||make purchases ONLY from those that practice green policy|||You must be kidding! This is why the bush regime allows manufacturing jobs to leave the US in droves, SO THEY DON'T HAVE MIN WAGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES TO DEAL WITH!|||During Election Years?|||By making the environment valuable. When things are valuable, you take care of them. Environmentalists don't understand this. All they want to do is lock up everything and throw away the key. Then the land/resources become worthless and no one takes care of them.

Canada's forests are a prime example. Healthier and more productive than ever thanks to a strong logging industry. And the fact that stupid-*** California won't let anyone log here so mile-long trains just keep importing that Canadian lumber (and a little BC green probably too). Meanwhile, all our forests in the Sierra are full of dead trees and are rampant with wood disease. Gigantic, uncontrollable wildfires are the result of all this environmental "protection."|||You have to fine them and make them comply with it, that's how.|||Become the CEO of Exxon or POTUS and show the way. It's the people in the positions of power that make the decisions.
