And thank you also for answering my question about the preservation of food. :)|||When I'm passing through in East service road in Para帽aque, I've seen trashes thrown anywhere|||The main environmental problem with Manila is Urban sprawl and antiquated construction and planning with not enough green areas. There are not enough trees. More trees with high canopy shade will lower the higher temperatures caused from concrete, asphalt and metal heating up in the sun like a solar oven. Trees are an organic aircon system that lower temperatures by dispersing groundwater as a fine mist thru leaves. Trees also filter pollution, carbon dioxide, dust and increase oxygen levels thus improving air quality. More trees will also reduce urban noise levels. More trees will create habitat for birds, squirrels, etc. Rainwater retention ponds serve to replenish groundwater, mitigate flooding, and improve the water quality of storm water run off. Manila should adopt a strategy similar to that of New York City, that pledged to green modernize the city by planting the maximum number of trees possible to maximize the area of tree shade cover. An economic study of New York City found that this landscape strategy will quickly pay for itself just by the saved electricity due to lower aircon demand from lower temperature provided by the shade trees. Two stroke motor bikes and other vehicle that cause a lot of pollution could be phased out with a pollution tax, while offering a subsidy or tax exemption for green vehicles that run on electric, methane or natural gas. Methane digestors could process sewage and create fuel.
