Is not environmental problems all a part of evolution of mankind ?

Is it something to be worried about? Could it not be compensated with technological advancements? Tomorrow may be a machine world. Man will be many times advanced. Why should he be in need of water, trees. Rather won't they be outdated? And so why not exploitation of resources?|||The environment is an interactive situation. Everything interacts with almost everything else, or at least has the potential to do so. The problem with human interaction is the rate of change the environment. Humans have been around for a few thousand years, but without the ability to change the environment to any great degree. Harvesting a few plants and hunting a few animals for food had no more effect that deer grazing or a lion getting a zebra.

Today, we dump tons of toxic chemicals into the air hourly. We hunt and kill for pleasure rather than food. We remove multiple species of native plants for cultivated monocultures. We may not have to chance to evolve or advance if the environment gives out before we progress.

No, I'm not a tree hugger. I just think we need to do some basic preventative maintenance for the environment so it will last long enough. Like changing the oil in your car, it lasts longer if it is cared for.|||Eventually robots will be able to do possibly more than the human can do. However it is the biological aspect that will not change. How can humans live in a world without oxygen and water which are vital for us to stay alive?|||The environmental problems are not as serious to humans as to animals. You are right, humans will probably evolve/advance to compensate for different environmental issues. But all the other species can't. And if you start letting other species die off, it creates serious problems. With no trees we would have to generate our own oxygen. It is going to be much easier to just try and keep them around.|||A key word in your statement is "may". The future may be dominated with machines, but maybe not.

Human intelligence is a great thing - we have already developed so many great things, and we will continue to do so, so long as we don't destroy ourselves first. We need to use our intelligence to make sure we don't destroy ourselves and the world we live in today, so that it and we are still around for tomorrow.
