What are some environmental problems and what can we do to stop it?

the effect of increased dust, wash the streets


effect of more carbon dioxide in the smokestack, use best available technology to reduce it


how about this one, ever smell "smokey barbeque?" that can be mitigated by putting scrubbers on the smokestack





the list goes on and on...|||People can learn to drive a bit less with their cars. Turn the engine off instead of sitting with it idling while they wait for someone to run into the store. Use a more efficient car. Burn alternate fuels in cars and at home. Ethanol is made from plant food and causes less pollution than petrol. Biodiesel can also be made from plants and it burns much cleaner than standard diesel fuel. It can even be used by people who have a fuel oil furnace.


If everyone would plant a tree every year, those trees would help absorb some of the carbon dioxide. Bicycles still work just fine if we just get ourselves up on the seat and pedal. And many of us need the exercise anyway to remain healthy. Health care generates a great deal of pollution because it requires energy to operate.
